Hey everyone, welcome to my Creative Church Blog. I’ll start off by introducing myself and telling you a little bit about who I am and what I do.
My name is Chris Voeltner, I’m 25 years old, and I like long walks on the beach… nah, just kidding, even though the beach is amazing! I’ve been married for almost four years to my beautiful high school sweetheart, Lexie. We currently do not have any kids, but we have a cute doggy and sort of a punk cat, Lilah and Grayson. I live in Southern California, and I have all my life. Currently working on my college degree while my brilliant wife just started her Masters Program.
Just over a year ago, I became the Director of Digital Ministry at Kindred Community Church that we’ve been members of for about 6 years now. We absolutely love this church and the doctrinally sound teaching we get each Sunday, and the incredible fellowship of our family and friends. I met Lexie at a church we both went to, the very first night my brother and I ever went to the HS/College group. I always tell it like this:
The first time I met my wife was in the techbooth, sitting behind a 27-inch iMac running visuals… that was the moment I knew.
As you get to know me, you’ll learn about my love for all things Apple. Even before I worked there (and left to work at my church), but I’ll save that for another blog post.
Okay, now that you have a little bit of background on me, let’s get to what this blog is going to be about!
As I learn things about ministry, the church, and being on staff, I love to impress my learnings upon others so that they too, can use their gifts and talents to serve the Lord. This blog will work to accomplish that for an online audience. I’ve seen many blogs out there that have great content, and I’d like to join in on that with my two sense, as well. I’ve also been working on the idea of starting a podcast, as I’ve been very interested in those myself, over the last two years.
I’d also love to help answer any questions that anyone has about my work experience, theology, creative ministry, being on staff at a church, etc. and help build up people to serve the Lord and His people, faithfully. I like to think of this blog as a Creative and Technical way of “equipping the saints” as Paul writes in Ephesians 4:12-16.
Anyway, I hope that was a short little introduction to myself and this blog. I hope to see you around, answer questions, and discuss… lets get started!
